The Edhec Boat Cup

What is it ?

It is an international regatta in which more than 165 student crews participate in each year in April. The Edhec Boat Cup has been for years the largest European sporting event for students, with more than 3000 participants and about 10 000 visitors every year. Thanks to 41 years of experience, the 2010 Edhec Boat Cup will fully satisfy any sea lover! A touring regatta is planned this year with a port of call in Douarnenez where the whole fleet will settle during one night.

For the past 16 years, the Land Trophy has been coming along with the Sea Trophy. Each year, 130 teams participate in the Land Trophy and the 650 participants compete in land-based activities and have a chance to discover the hinterland of the area. “Discover the Sea through the Land” have been the watchwords of this great competition where the friendly and convivial atmosphere makes you forget you had a tough sporting day. A bivouac night in the Fort de Bertheaume will be held this year for the second time in the Edhec Boat Cup history.

The nerve center of the event is the 12 000 m² (130 000 square feet) village which contains sponsors’ stands, a catering area, a cyber café, students’ stands who come every year to represent their school aand compete in the Sand Trophy, the team sports tournament.
