The Great Event sets sails towards Brest for its 45th edition

Sports and sailing, competition and emotions, conviviality and perseverance, the words are not enough to describe this subtle mix that is the EDHEC Sailing Cup.

For its 45th edition which promises to be amazing, the leading European student sporting event sets sail towards Brest from April 19 to April 27, 2013 for an unforgettable week. More than 3,000 students from all over the world will be there to compete with one another on Sea, Land or Sand and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Village and the Great Marquee.

Our event diversified over the years and now it is composed of four Trophies:

Historical core of the EDHEC Sailing Cup, the Sea Trophy is now as big as 182 boats in the 44th edition and it represents a date not-to-be-missed in the French federal nautical schedule. Crews from the world's best schools and universities come to race against one another in coastal and tactical courses in the hope to podium highest.

The EDHEC Sailing Cup is also composed of a Land Trophy in which 150 teams (it represents about 750 participants) compete in a multi-sports raid for one week. The Land Trophy allows you to surpass yourself physically in a large variety of sports while discovering the beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the hinterland of Brest.

Third birth of the event, the Sand Trophy celebrated its fifth birthday with its new record of 74 teams in the 44th edition. The Sand Trophy offers its participants a convivial week during which they competed with one another in a tournament of sports on sand such as beach soccer and sand ball.

After the large success of its first edition in 2012, the last born Trophy of the EDHEC Sailing Cup is taking off to discover the beautiful spots of the Finistère during the first week-end of the event. This is the only kite surfing competition in teams in France and it has already become a major gathering for all kite surfing lovers in an atmosphere of sports and conviviality.

The EDHEC Sailing Cup used to be a touring regatta. It settled itself in one harbor only in 1980 and since then, the harbor of each edition is different from the previous year. Nowadays, the EDHEC Sailing Cup centralizes its structures on a 12,000 square meter Village that become the place-to-be for more than 10,000 visitors during the week of competition. Divided in two parts - the Day Village and the Night Village : the whole Village allows anyone to have a rest and enjoy the wide range of animations offered to the participants by the Organizing Team and our partners.

Thus, the EDHEC Sailing Cup embodies 45 years of History written by voluntary EDHEC Business School students whose goal has always been to offer their participants a week even richer in memories and emotions than the previous editions !

And up to April 19, 2013, stay on course !
